Temecula, Calif.: Nufactor, a Specialty Infusion Company, has selected the ten recipients of their 2019 Eric Dostie Memorial College Scholarship. Founded in 1994, the scholarship was developed in remembrance of Eric Dostie, a 5-year-old boy who was tragically murdered on August 27, 1994. Eric had hemophilia, a rare hereditary disorder in which the blood does not clot normally, caused when one or more clotting factors (substances in the blood that help form a clot) are missing.

Eric inspired many lives with his uplifting joy, humor and unending love. His family recalls his aspirations of becoming a scientist and inventing a cure for hemophilia in the form of a "chocolate pill."

Nufactor is proud to announce the following winners of the 2019 scholarship:

  • Brian Duval
  • Marin Frallicciardi
  • Olivia Hoff
  • Tela Kirk-Aguilar
  • Jerri Lankford
  • Ariel Mcgee
  • Isaiah Reeves
  • Rachel Swanson
  • Luci Takas
  • Nicole Tooley

The Eric Dostie Scholarship grants $1,000 to each winner to be used for school expenses. Scholarship candidates are required to submit an essay describing how their education will be used to serve humanity and encourage self-improvement and enrichment. Recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service and financial need.

"Many students over the years have benefitted financially through this scholarship, which supports them in reaching their goals of higher education. Congratulations to our winners this year. I look forward to seeing them pursue their educational dreams," says Patrick M. Schmidt, chief executive officer of FFF Enterprises.

Applications for the 2020 scholarships will open on November 1, 2019. Visit the Nufactor Eric Dostie Memorial College Scholarship website or call (800) 323-6832 to learn more about the program and to request an application.
